Veterans Day is a personal day for the Norwich community. The observance’s guest speaker, Army Lt. Gen. David Fridovich, didn’t have to be briefed to know how personal. Fridovich, former assistant professor of military science, said he knows that there is a “phenomenal amount of all of you that rise through the ranks [to] become leaders in a short period of time. “Half of you will commit to something bigger than yourselves,” he said. “You’ll be committing to a hallowed history.” | NU helps find clean drinking water in Bangladesh
Call it another day, another milestone in Seth Frisbie’s efforts to help some of the poorest citizens in the developing world find safe drinking water. And another gold star for one of his chemistry-lab students at Norwich. “Perhaps the most important part of this work,” Frisbie said, “is the contribution of a former Norwich undergraduate, Lawrence Mastera.”
